You must have the Android SDK and developer tools to test and debug mobile applications for Android.
- Go to the Android SDK download page at
http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
. - Scroll to the bottom of the page and expand GET THE SDK FOR AN EXISTING IDE.
- Click Download the stand-alone Android SDK Tools for Windows.
- Agree to the terms and conditions.
- Click Download the SDK Tools for Windows, and then click Save File.
- Save and then run

- After the wizard detects where the Java SE Development Kit is installed, click Next.

Because the emulator in later versions requires more memory and is slower, use Android 4.2.2 (API 17) to develop and test the Business Card Scanner mobile application. Note: If you use Android Studio on macOS Mojave or later, you might see a prompt to allow the IDE to access your calendar, contacts, or photos. This prompt is caused by new privacy protection mechanisms for applications that access files under the home directory. So, if your project includes files and libraries in your home directory, and you see this prompt, you can select Don't Allow.
Linux
To install Android Studio on Linux, proceed as follows:

Follow these steps to install Android Studio on Chrome OS:
